Flatweave

Flatweave is a carpet construction with a flat surface, produced by weaving warp and weft yarns in structures such as plain weave or twill weave without creating a pile. Unlike conventional carpets that have a pile surface, flatweave carpets are thin and smooth, making them particularly popular for use as rugs. They are practical, easy to maintain, and well suited to minimalist and natural interior styles. Common examples include Kilim, Sumak, cotton- and wool-blend flatwoven rugs, and polypropylene flatweaves designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
