Gimp

Gimp is a decorative trimming in the form of a flat band made by wrapping or weaving yarn around a thick thread or cord. It is commonly used on furniture, curtains, cushions, and other interior textiles to conceal seams or edges while adding a decorative effect. Flat or slightly raised in profile, gimp is used to cover stitching lines, staple marks, and other construction details, serving both decorative and finishing functions. It is one of the most widely used decorative trimmings in classic upholstered furniture.
